JENNIFER VULGAN, BA

Counseling Intern

Sometimes life just feels hard. We feel overwhelmed, stressed and disappointed; we feel disconnected. And we don’t know how to make things better.

That’s where I come in.

I’ll bring my knowledge and experience to help you find that calm and clarity. As you go on this journey, I’ll walk with you— providing a warm and welcoming space to explore those difficult thoughts and feelings. Along the way, I’ll challenge you with introspective questions and put together pieces to offer unexpected insights. Together we’’ll work on building and restoring healthy relationships in your life.

I fully believe we were all made to feel connected with others and that when we have  healthy relationships in our lives, we thrive.  Sometimes, it seems so hard to find those stable, drama-free relationships though. Therapy uniquely provides a  place where you can be completely yourself and have honest, supportive conversation.

I believe in authenticity, humor and learning to appreciate the unexpected things in life., so you’ll find I bring these to every conversation.  I also love using a variety of methods in addition to talk therapy, like grounding, deep breathing,  and other somatic techniques as a different way to talk to the mind and emotions and to find that calm.

Client focus: Teens & Adults, Autistic Individuals, and Couples

Education

  • MA at Asbury Theological Seminary - Expected graduation 2024

A Little About Me...

My two favorite things are learning and laughing. You’ll usually find me forcing one or the other of these on friends and family. I love exploring spiritual and philosophical topics or reading old British detective novels. Self-care is a must have; my current favorites are cooking, weight lifting and traveling.

Individual Counseling

Individual Counseling is where people come to solve problems, grow, and change their lives in the direction that they think is best for them and their families. When people are stuck and they don't know how to stop certain behaviors, counseling can provide the skills they need to get them where they want to go in life.

Couples Counseling (Gottman Method)

Couples counseling using the Gottman Method is a research-based approach designed to enhance relationships. Through structured sessions, couples learn practical skills to improve communication, manage conflicts, and foster intimacy. By addressing negative patterns and emphasizing friendship and fondness, partners gain the tools needed to create a strong and fulfilling relationship.
